The Librarians: Michigan State University Libraries Print & Social Media Campaign

About

Goal

To attract larger attendance at a recurring, monthly, faculty development session.

Solution

In collaboration with the event organizer, I photographed and designed a series of work that played off of the TV show, The Librarians. The topic of the month’s event was a focus on the available resources of the Michigan State University Library and, specifically, the library’s staff, who are there to assist faculty in course development needs. One of the biggest sources of inspiration for me in this was the notion that they are “more than just a book repository”. It was with this message, and inspiration from the TV show, that I created this campaign.

Results

Promoting this campaign on Twitter and Facebook, as well as in printed postcard-sized handouts, generated nearly three times as many attendees as previous sessions where a campaign was not utilized.
